Upcoming Events

Welcome to the LCHS PTSA Website!

Dear LCHS Families and Staff Members,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at La Cañada High School! I am thrilled to welcome our new families and returning families back to campus and look forward to working together collaboratively to support our wonderful students and dedicated administration, teachers and staff.

The new school year brings many opportunities to get involved and engage with other parents.  Please take a look at the new Spartan Order Form where you will find opportunities to volunteer to the many PTSA sponsored events like the Tailgate Party on September 16th, Picture Make-Up Day, Servathon School Clean-up Day, and the Spring Home Tour on April 28th.

You will also be able to purchase meals for the Tailgate Party and tickets and sponsorships for the Spring Home Tour and Spirit Wear.

Without your generous financial support, we cannot fund and run the many important programs that our school and students depend upon.  As you go through the Spartan Order Form, there are opportunities to support our amazing technology department, Science programs, IRC resources and the Wellness Center.  You can also join PTSA and order a directory.

We hope that you can attend the first PTSA Meeting in the Cafeteria on August 18th at 8:45 am.  Come hear all the latest updates from our Principal, District representatives and staff before heading to work.

I am humbled to serve as your PTSA President and look forward to a fabulous school year. Many thanks to my awesome Executive Board, chairs, and volunteers for their tireless work and support. Again, welcome back and please do not hesitate to contact me at ptapresident@lchsptsa.org  if I can be of help.

9-12 Attendance Procedures for signing students out of school during the day

Parents, guardians and 18 year olds, if you are scheduling doctor or personal appointments during school hours, please adhere to the following:

  1. Please bring a note to the Attendance Office before school so “permit to leave school grounds” can be processed.  Note must include:
  • Name
  • Date
  • I.D. number
  • Reason for leaving
  • Time to leave
  • Signature of parent/guardian or 18 year old
  1. Upon returning to school, student must return the permit to the Attendance Office with appropriate signature for validation of absence.
  2. Leaving a message on the attendance line IS NOT permission to leave school grounds.
  3. Students who leave school grounds without a “permit to leave” will be considered unexcused and subject to disciplinary action that could include Saturday school or suspension.
  4. Students feeling sick must go to the Health Office and see Miss Hastings.
  5. It is the responsibility of the parent, guardian or 18 year old to call the Attendance Office the day of the absence.  Absences must be cleared within 72 hours, if not, student can be considered unexcused.

School’s automated robo calls go out at 3:30pm, M-F, to those homes of student’s whose absences have not been cleared for the day.
