Dear Family,


February is wrapping up and it was a busy month. Last Thursday evening we celebrated our La Canada Council Reflections Contest winners with an awards reception in the LCUSD board room. It was a great evening attended by the students and their families. I want to thank our Reflections chairperson, Connie Wu, for organizing this wonderful event and supporting our student artists!


Looking ahead to March, mark your calendars for the Founders Day Awards Reception on March 14th at 6:30 pm, the Multicultural Event on March 15th at 6pm, and Servathon on March 16th starting at 8:00 am.


We’ll also have our PTSA General Meeting on March 14th at 8:45 am in the Cafeteria. Our featured guest speakers will be the College and Career Center counselors who will have important information to share.

Next PTSA Meeting is Thursday the 14th

Omega Yearbook Class of 2024 Dedications and Pre-sales Extended to February 29th! Buy your grad ad before it's too late! Questions? Contact omega@mylcusd.net.

Yearbook pre-sales will also end on February 29th and price goes up to $150 on March 1st.

First District PTA Commerative Senior Scholarships - DUE MARCH 1st!
Deadline is March 1, 2024

The First District PTA Commemorative Senior Scholarship application process is now open. The winner will receive a scholarship from the First District PTA in the amount of $750. Applications will also be considered for the La Cañada Council PTA scholarship. Seniors must use the 2024 First District PTA Commemorative Scholarship fillable forms: the application and the reference form.  All questions are to be answered fully, including a personal statement that touches on as many of the essay prompts as are applicable to the student. The scholarship application must include the following completed documents

1. Scholarship Application Form

2. PTA membership card/confirmation, which can be picked up in the College & Career Center from Mrs. Proctor. You’ll need to scan this card and include it in your online application.

3. Student Personal Statement – response to prompt questions, which are contained in the

application. Preferred in PDF or Word. Maximum of 500 words total. The Statement must

include the word count.

4. Completed Reference Form with Letter of Recommendation

5. Copy of High School Transcript

PTA Council General Meeting is Coming Up - All PTA Members Welcome!
March 8th at 8:45am in the LCUSD Boardroom

The PTA Council meetings are open for any PTA member within the district.  Regular presenters are Superintendent Wendy Sinnette and LCUSD School Board President Josh Epstein.  Voting will take place on the following slate for the 2024-24 La Cañada PTA Council Executive Board that was presented at the general meeting on February 2, 2024 by the nominating committee.  Additional nominations may be made from the floor at the annual election meeting

The following slate for the 2024-24 La Cañada High School PTSA Executive Board was presented at the general meeting on February 15, 2024 by the nominating committee.  Voting will take place at the annual election meeting on March 14, 2024.  Additional nominations may be made from the floor at the annual election meeting.  If there is only one nominee for any office, the ballot for that office may be dispensed with and the election held by voice vote.

Four volunteers are needed per shift: 8am - 12pm, 12pm - 4pm, and 4pm - 8pm

Please mark your calendars for our annual Servathon, coming up on Saturday, March 16th from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. It’s a fun day to come together to clean up and beautify our campus. All students and parents are encouraged to come, students can earn service hours.

This year’s Spring Home Tour is Friday, April 26, 2024. The day’s events include tours at four beautiful homes each chosen for their unique architectural style and inspirational design, an all-day Marketplace at the historic Lanterman House, and an Evening Reception held outdoors at an additional beautiful home.

The annual La Cañada Spring Home Tour is the single largest fundraising event benefiting La Cañada High School 7/8 PTA and 9/-12 PTSA. The funds raised go to programs, events, and improvements that benefit each of our students. Bringing the community together for 37 years, the Spring Home Tour opens the door to some of the finest homes in town providing inspiration to anyone interested in architecture, design, and local history.

La Canada High School Athletics is excited to host our first annual Golf Tournament! Come out to support the rich tradition and history of La Canada Athletics, on Friday April 12th at Brookside Golf Course beginning at 8:00 am. Every year we have over 1,000 students who participate in the 22 different sports that we offer. These students commit their time and energy to participate in the sports they love, while representing our community out in the world. As an entity that relies solely on fundraising, we are grateful for the support from our San Gabriel Valley community. Funds raised from this years event will go toward updating our Athletic Training room, and supporting the installation of a new fully digital Score Board in Spartan Stadium.

Senior Graduation Leis ON SALE NOW!

Graduation is around the corner! Congratulate your graduate with a fresh, fragrant flower lei (red & gold or white) to wear during their ceremony. Lei sales fund our senior brunch -- we appreciate your participation as we all celebrate the Class of 2024.  

Senior Leis are an annual tradition for LCHS graduating seniors. Pre-order a beautiful fresh double strand white or cardinal red lei for your senior and it will be made available for pickup at LCHS on June 5th after graduation rehearsal.  Please be aware that lei colors are not guaranteed and subject to availability.
