President's Message

Dear Family,

Happy Labor Day! I hope you have enjoyed a glorious long weekend making memories with your family.

It was so wonderful seeing so many of you at Back to School Night last Thursday! It was fun to be on campus seeing it through our children's eyes. I feel so grateful for the incredible teachers we have, and was so impressed to hear from them. Their dedication, creativity, passion and care for our students is l;ike no other. I am truly excited for all of my children this year. With Mr. Pasz, Ms. Nebor and Mrs. Tobin's leadership, it is bound to be a fabulous year!

At both our first PTSA meeting and at Back to School Night, I shared that the key to the success of the PTSA (and the programs and services we provide) are that we each do three things:

Donate!Advocate!Participate!

We need your money (to provide for programs). Every little bit counts.

We need your input (to keep our kids safe and healthy and engaged).

And we need your time (just enough to know what is going on, maybe share ideas or skills to make it even better).

Our online Order Form is open and you can join the PTA, Volunteer, and support various programs there. You can also buy spirit wear or purchase Tailgate meals there as well.

If we all work together, we're going to have an amazing year! Thank you in advance.

Saturday, September 7th is also our very own Dr. Gold's Birthday! If your student has a minute, stop by his office this week and give him a big shout out for his special day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dr. Gold!

PTSA Meeting: Sleep Expert to Speak!

Are your kids always TIRED now that school has started? International sleep expert, Dr. Melisa Moore, will speak at our PTSA meeting on September 19th.

Spartan Order Form is Open!

With a new year comes the Spartan Order Form, where you can donate, volunteer and purchase your PTSA membership, Directory, Home Tour Sponsorship, Tailgate tickets and Spirit Wear.

The funding sources that comprise the annual PTSA budget are from donations you choose to make on this form. LCHS PTSA relies on our school families to donate, either to our PTSA directed funds or as Sponsors of the annual La Canada Home Tour. YOUR student and YOUR school are counting on you. Please check it out!

You can access it on our website at www.lchsptsa.org and once you have created your account you can click the Spartan Order Form link on the left side of the page. Instructions to set up your account are on the website home page.

Join us at the Annual Tailgate - Sept. 20!

Every year, LCHS PTSA, LCHS 7/8 PTA and Boosters organize a fun Tailgate Party at the start of football season. Families gather outside the football field as we play games, listen to a great DJ and enjoy delicious freshly meals from Tommy's. A spirit tunnel is created by those present and our teams run through it and onto the field to kick off the Spartan athletics season. Tailgate is a membership event for both organizations and we encourage everyone to attend and support our important organizations.

The 2024 Tailgate will be Friday, September 20 at 5:00 pm prior to the football game. Parent volunteers are needed to make this fun event a success. Go to the Spartan Order Form to purchase food tickets in advance and sign up to volunteer.
