Dear Family,

March is another busy month at LCHS! It started last weekend with the all-school musical, Legally Blonde. A huge congratulations to Mr. Eick and the incredibly talented cast for their amazing performances – the months of hard work and dedication paid off for a very successful show. 

We also congratulate Mr. Stone and the orchestra for their hard work and wonderful performances. We are so lucky to have such dedicated performing arts teachers and talented students at our school!

Other events coming up this month are the Founders Day Awards ceremony on March 16 th at 6:30 pm in the Auditorium and our annual Servathon on March 18th. Please sign up to help if you haven’t already.

Our next PTSA meeting will be on Thursday, March 16th at 8:45 am. We’ll meet in the new College and Career Center, upstairs in the IRC. We’ll have a CHP officer do a presentation about the dangers of drunk driving. We hope that you can attend in person, but you can also join us on Zoom. The link will be provided before the meeting.

Save the date for our next PTSA meeting - March 16th at 8:45am in the LCHS Cafeteria.

Our annual Servathon, is coming up on Saturday, March 18th! All students and parents are welcome to join us for a fun day to come together to clean up and beautify our campus. 

Drinks, donuts, and pizza will be served, plus students can earn their service hours!

Has someone in the La Cañada Unified School District made a real impact on you or your children this year or last? We’d like to hear about your experience!

The La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation’s Endowment Fund is seeking nominations of outstanding LCUSD educators for the 2022-23 Rose Harrington Educator of the Year Award.

This year’s nominations are due by Friday, March 31st with winners to be selected by an Endowment Trustee-appointed committee. Anyone is eligible to submit a nomination – fellow teachers, parents, administrators, and students (if they can independently complete the nomination form). Paper nomination forms will also be available at upcoming PTA meetings, which you can submit via email, fax or mail.

The Rose Harrington Educator of the Year Award, which comes with a cash prize (last year it was over $7,000!), was established in 2002 by a bequest made in the estate of local resident Rose Harrington, who herself was an educator.

We are delighted that the La Cañada Spring Home Tour will be back this year in full swing!  The home tour is the single largest fundraiser for the LCHS 7/8 PTA and 9-12 PTSA. Proceeds are used to fund a variety of extracurricular activities that benefit our students and would not be possible without the generous participation of the community in this annual event.

This year the Home Tour will showcase five gorgeous and architecturally significant homes for attendees to tour. The All Day Marketplace will be at the Lanterman House with wonderful vendors, snacks and coffee.

 Save the Date, Friday, April 28^th! Homes will be open from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00-6:00pm.  The After Party celebration will take place outdoors from 6:00-8:00 pm at a separate residential location. 

We hope every family can participate in some way to support this important cause either through purchasing tickets for the Home Tour, After Party, or donating directly at various Family Sponsorship Levels, all available at www.lacanadahometour.com. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the event at the Lanterman House.

Publicity, La Canada Home Tour

The First District PTA Commemorative Senior Scholarship application process is now open.  The LCHS winner will receive a scholarship from the La Canada Council PTA in the amount of $750, and will move on to consideration at the First District.  The deadline to submit your application packet is Monday, March 14, 2023 at Noon.  

The application packet must be submitted to president@lacanadapta.org. You will receive a confirmation that your application has been received.
